An update for Microsoft’s blogging client is now available for download, with the company making little effort to bring the refresh to the public, so far. Users leveraging Windows Live Writer in order to blog on Windows Live, Wordpress or any other similar service, now have an upgrade available designed to take the version string of their application up to 14.0.8089.726. The update offered comes in concert with additional refreshes from the software giant, but with no information available. Microsoft released Windows Live Writer Wave 3 in the first half of January 2009 with the 2009 releases of the Windows Live clients. At that time, the company collected all Windows Live applications under the Windows Live Essentials brand umbrella and indicated that the software collection was designed to extend the Windows operating system, with a focus on Windows 7, into the Cloud. According to Microsoft MVP Jonathan Kay, Build 14.0.8089.726 of Windows Live Writer is an integral part of the second QFE (Quick Fix Engineering) wave of releases for Windows Live Wave 3 2009 clients, after similar updates were made available in February of this year.
